Neutral points of skylight polarization observed during the total eclipse on 11 August 1999.
We report here on the observation of unpolarized (neutral) points in the sky during the total solar eclipse on 11 August 1999. Near the zenith a neutral point was observed at 450 nm at two different points of time during totality. Around this celestial point the distribution of the angle of polarization was heterogeneous: The electric field vectors on the one side were approximately perpendicul...
متن کاملSearch for neutrino radiative decays during a total solar eclipse
We present the results of the measurements performed in the occasion of the 2001 total solar eclipse, looking for visible photons emitted through a possible radiative decay of solar neutrinos. We establish lower limits for the ν2 and ν3 proper lifetimes above 10 s/eV, for neutrino masses larger than 10 eV.
متن کاملIonospheric response to total solar eclipse of 22 July 2009 in different Indian regions
The variability of ionospheric response to the total solar eclipse of 22 July 2009 has been studied analyzing the GPS data recorded at the four Indian low-latitude stations Varanasi (100 % obscuration), Kanpur (95 % obscuration), Hyderabad (84 % obscuration) and Bangalore (72 % obscuration). The retrieved ionospheric vertical total electron content (VTEC) shows a significant reduction (reflecte...
